Thank you Barbara!
About the barn door-while the wood for the door itself may have only cost about $20, the slider fixtures cost a fortune
Agreed!!! I love this idea but can’t bring myself to pay for the hardware. 🙁
Good idea with the plywood flooring but you really should remove the baseboards first then replace them to cover the uneven edges of the boards. It will make the job more professional and clean looking.
While I agree with some of these, I beg you all to NEVER just cover something up. Never just throw a new floor over an old floor, unless you’re throwing carpet over wood. I have a “cover up” house and I hate it.We have 3 layers deep of different shades of wood paneling. The pastor ceiling was falling down, so they put up drop ceiling to hide it. I’d rather bought a house where everything was ripped down then covered up! But I love my house; it has old charm.
I agree! We bought an older home that had been a rental, and it was such a pain to take off layers in order to update and do everything correctly! NEVER just cover something up! So much work down the road.
