Cool DIY Lighting Updates

It doesn’t matter whether your home is large or small, we all need good lighting.  DIY light fixtures are one of the most overlooked areas of home decorating, and they shouldn’t be. Especially in a small home where lack of proper light can make it look even smaller! Lighting can also be an accessory in a room, so make it count. If you want to try some makeover magic, use your present light fixtures (or check out thrift stores!) and try these cool DIY lighting updates.

This extremely cool DIY light fixture is from ‘The 3 R’s‘, and it is creative in every way! She says she saw this in an Anthropologie store as a prop, and created from there. This Dodecahedron DIY Pendant Light from Kelly at ‘View Along the Way‘ has real presence, and we love the shape of this! Their inspiration piece costs over $440, so this is an amazing DIY!

Lindsay at ‘My Creative Days‘ has a tutorial for her DIY light fixtures made from galvanized metal pieces they found at a yard sale! Two part tutorial, so don’t miss any of it!

This project is more a lightscape than a lamp, but we love this! What great ambient lighting for a room, and easy! ‘Apartment Therapy’ has the tutorial.

Finally, we have Brenna’s paper capiz shell chandelier from ‘Design Sponge‘. Ok, this is crazy clever. This DIY light fixture is made from a hanging plant basket and parchment paper. Yes, really. Love it!

    I love the idea come from Apartment Therapy. It look so gorgeous. But It seems like they have removed the tutorial link. I’ll try to looking for it at some where else. Thanks for sharing those cool works.

    Really love those designs specially which comes from CraftyNest. You could use the brighter led light on it. It will be glow much.
