And the air plants they used? Serious style here. We love the way they actually teach you how to make the macrame knots with step by step photos!

(We’ve also seen these at Ikea). Love this because it allows light in, yet separates the spaces.

It still is a great article. I am into Traditional Room Dividers but the DIY ideas shared above are fantastic. Forces me to think it over… 🙂
Such great ideas! Those cheap IKEA dividers could be decorated with ribbon or even your favourite book covers. That would look really cool!
I just love these DIY room divider ideas. Thanks a lot for sharing this post.
i love the idea with the vinyl. i have a small space under the kitchen sink i want to cover with something similar. would old dvds work? how do i attache them together? what do i spray them with?
I love Lynne’s idea if Command hooks & light weight chain if plastic. I wanted to do something similar in a corner of a room. All the ideas are so good! You
I was thinking of stringing picture wire from Command Hooks to hang light-weight fabric from. How about light-weight [plastic?] chain strung from the Command Hooks with a light weight curtain – the curtain hooks could go into the chain links.
Using the Command Hooks would allow you to follow the contour of your space. I was thinking of it to divide my sleeping area from my craft area, since they say that you should keep other activities out of the bed room. String the wire from the window, to the bureau in the middle of the room, then to the other wall.
are the sheers held up with rods or wire/cable?

Looks to me that it is some sort of wire or cable. Sorry don’t know for sure as this photo came from a website that does not have a tutorial. I have done something very similar and used a cable that I purchased from Ikea!
I absolutely LOVE the dividers made with the sheer drapes! It helps to visually keep the bedroom separate without ‘cutting into’ the whole space. Three cheers – it’s something I’ll be thinking of doing!
