Simple DIY Table Runner Projects

It can be a challenge to add detail and color to your home, without overwhelming a room with clutter.  No matter what size your home, tablecloths in our dining areas are becoming passé. They need to be frequently cleaned, they can be a safety hazard with kids and pets, and they add just one more “thing” to clutter up the room. That having been said, it’s nice to add a touch of pattern, style and color to the focal point in your dining space, and table runners are being seen in every magazine and home decor showroom as the perfect alternative. Want a custom look? Then it’s time to create your own DIY table runner with these project instructions and inspiration. No matter what your style, table runners are easy to whip up, and can be creative  pops of design that can be removed for meals. Check out these table runner projects!

How to Make a DIY Table Runner

Our first project is from Live Laugh Rowe. She has this great tutorial for a stenciled drop cloth DIY table runner that is perfectly designed for any home. She has great step by steps too!

This pulled thread DIY table runner is our next project, and it’s super simple. Easy, no sew, and chic! From ‘Martha Stewart’.

We love the simplicity of this burlap runner from Wedding Chicks. Burlap, twine, done! Burlap is a hot material right now, and cheap!
